I Weep for Sokoto East
For a decade they endured
Merciless onslaught
By heartless killers
Their maidens deflowered
The children orphaned
Young men butchered
Turned into human barbacue
Their once fertile lands..
Confiscated and turned barren
The free fields they proudly own
Turned to wastelands
Their animals rustled and burnt
The schools turned to orphanages
Majority resolute and derelict
Their women widowed
Orphans adorn the place
Blood flowing everywhere
From the blessed veins
Of these hapless defeated
Disorganized, brutally
Words fail me my dear
Graveyard silence permeate
Everywhere!
We crave an end to this butchery
Debauchery and bloodletting
Sokoto East I pray
Peace returns
Peace reigns perpetually
May Allah annihilate them
Who caused this misfortune
From arms suppliers
Informers of cruelty
To actual sponsors
Whatever be their motives
May it consume them all!
Let peace returns
So that we smile again
Sokoto East sends an SOS
Hey Rube
The world should know
They never hurt a fly
Now their blood, properties
Dignity and families
Cheaper than Air!
