WIVES OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD

Also known as "Mothers of the Believers (Ummahat al-Mu’minin)"

1. Khadijah bint Khuwaylid – The Prophet's first wife. She was a wealthy merchant and the first person to accept Islam. Their marriage lasted 25 years until her death.

2. Sawda bint Zam‘ah – Married the Prophet after Khadijah’s death. She was known for her humor and piety.

3. Hafsah bint Umar – Daughter of Umar ibn al-Khattab (the second caliph). She was entrusted with the safekeeping of the original Qur’anic manuscript.

4. Aisha bint Abu Bakr – Daughter of Abu Bakr (the first caliph). She narrated over 2,000 hadith and was known for her intelligence and deep knowledge of Islam.

5. Zaynab bint Khuzaymah – Known as "Mother of the Poor" for her charity. She passed away only a few months after her marriage to the Prophet.

6. Zaynab bint Jahsh – A noble Qurayshi woman and cousin of the Prophet. Her marriage to the Prophet was commanded by Allah (Qur’an 33:37).

7. Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith – A captive from the Banu Mustaliq tribe who embraced Islam. Her marriage to the Prophet led many of her tribe to also accept Islam.

8. Umm Salamah (Hind bint Abi Umayyah) – A wise and eloquent woman known for her consultation with the Prophet during the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah.

9. Safiyyah bint Huyayy – A Jewish noblewoman from Banu Nadir. She embraced Islam and became one of the Prophet’s wives after the Battle of Khaybar.

10. Ramla bint Abi Sufyan (Umm Habibah) – Daughter of Abu Sufyan. She accepted Islam early and was married to the Prophet while in Abyssinia.

11. Maymunah bint al-Harith – The last woman the Prophet married. She was known for her generosity and devotion to the Prophet’s cause.

CHILDREN OF THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD

Sons:

1. Ibrahim – Son of Maria al-Qibtiyya. He died in infancy in Madinah.

2. Qasim – First son of Khadijah. He died in childhood. The Prophet's kunya (nickname) was Abu al-Qasim.

3. Abdullah – Also called Tayyib or Tahir. Died in infancy.

Daughters (all from Khadijah):

4\. Zaynab – The eldest daughter. She was married to Abu al-As ibn al-Rabi’.

5\. Ruqayyah – Married to Uthman ibn Affan. She died during the Battle of Badr.

6\. Umm Kulthum – Also married Uthman after Ruqayyah’s death. She passed away during the Prophet's lifetime.

7\. Fatimah al-Zahra – The youngest daughter and closest to the Prophet. Married to Ali ibn Abi Talib and mother of Hasan and Husayn.

THE TEN COMPANIONS PROMISED PARADISE (AL-‘ASHARAH AL-MUBASHSHARAH)

1. Abu Bakr al-Siddiq – The Prophet’s closest friend and first caliph.

2. Umar ibn al-Khattab – Second caliph; known for justice and leadership.

3. Uthman ibn Affan – Third caliph; compiled the Qur’an in one manuscript.

4. Ali ibn Abi Talib – Cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet; fourth caliph.

5. Talhah ibn Ubaydullah – A brave warrior known for protecting the Prophet in battle.

6. Zubayr ibn al-Awwam – One of the earliest Muslims and cousin of the Prophet.

7. Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah – A trusted general and amir of the Muslim army.

8. Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf – A wealthy and generous supporter of Islam.

9. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas – One of the early converts; commander in major battles.

10. Sa’id ibn Zayd – Among the earliest Muslims and supporter of many causes of Islam.

FIVE PILLARS OF ISLAM (ARKAN AL-ISLAM)

1. Shahadah – Testimony of faith: “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.”

2. Salah (Swalah) – Performing the five daily prayers.

3. Zakah – Giving a portion of one’s wealth to those in need.

4. Sawm (Siyam) – Fasting during the month of Ramadan.

5. Hajj – Pilgrimage to Makkah at least once in a lifetime, if physically and financially able.

1. Muharram – One of the four sacred months.

2. Safar – A month often misunderstood with superstition.

3. Rabi' al-Awwal – The Prophet Muhammad’s birth month.

4. Rabi' al-Thani – Also known as Rabi' al-Akhir.

5. Jumada al-Ula – Fifth month of the Islamic calendar.

6. Jumada al-Thaniyah (Akhirah) – Sixth month.

7. Rajab – Another sacred month; associated with the Isra’ and Mi’raj.

8. Sha’ban – Month of voluntary fasting; precedes Ramadan.

9. Ramadan – The month of fasting, Qur’an revelation, and mercy.

10. Shawwal – The month after Ramadan; includes Eid al-Fitr.

11. Dhul-Qa’dah – A sacred month; a time of truce and peace.

12. Dhul-Hijjah – The month of Hajj and Eid al-Adha.
