NO ABLUTION WITHOUT RECITATION OF (BASMALAH)

  𝑸𝑼𝑬𝑺𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵❓

I was told that if I perform ablution without reciting the Basmalah  (Bismillahir Rahman Ar-Rahim), my ablution is invalid. How true is that?

𝑨𝑵𝑺𝑾𝑬𝑹❗️

The Holy Prophet ﷺ is reported to have said that :

لَاصَلَاةَ لمَنْ لَاوُضُوءَ لَهُ وَلَاوُضُوءَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ  ( أبوداود وابن ماجه )

There is no prayer without ablution and no ablution will be valid without the recitation of   Bismillahir Rahman Ar-Rahim   (  Reported by Ibn Majah and Abu Daud  ).

Thus, the first thing to do, whenever you are about to start ablution is to recite to Basmalah. It is also important to know that the recitation of Basmalah is not only restricted to ablution but to all lawful action that one is about to do. Upon completion of ablution, then you recite this supplication as Narrated in the following tradition:

مَامِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحْدٍ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُبْلِغُ أَوْ فَيُسْبِغُ الْوَضُوءَ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَوْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الَّلهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُ هُو وَرَسُولُهُ إِلَّا فُتِحَتْ لَهُ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّهِ الثَّمَا نِيَةُ يَدْخُلُ مَنْ أَيَّهَا شَاءَ.

If anyone amongst you performs ablution and completes the ablution well and says,  'I testify that there is none has the right to be worshiped except Allah and that Muhammad is the servant of Allah and his messenger', the eight gates of paradise would be opened for him and he may enter by whichever of them he wishes ( Reported in Sahih Muslim).
